1936 Company founding by Eduard Hartmann in Niederramstadt near Darmstadt, Germany. Production of handles from premium woods and plastic for the bag industry.
1938 Beginning of the production of fountain pens, glue sticks and ball-point pens with worldwide distribution under the brand name of Hohen-Staufen.
1942 The company headquarters is relocated to Schornbach, Germany.
1945 Entry into electrical engineering with the first HARTMANN micro switch with a magnetic bi-stable system.
1966 Kurt Hartmann, son of the company's founder, assumes directorship of the company. Entry into a new market for us, the "automobile industry".
1987 Georg Hartmann, grandson of the company founder, takes charge of the company
